Donations
By contributing to Seeds of Learning you can become part of Pagosa’s future and save money at the same time. In addition to Seeds of Learning being a 501(c)3 organization (thus qualifying it as a tax-exempt organization) it also qualifies for the Colorado Child Contribution Credit. This means that HALF of your donation can be credited toward your Colorado Income tax – up to $100,000 per year. Your federal income tax credit may also be as high as 35%, depending on your tax bracket. This means that you may actually save money by giving to Seeds of Learning!

Follow these simple steps to make a mail-in donation.

  • Make check payable to Seeds of Learning.
  • Fill out form below with your donation amount, name and address so we can mail you a receipt..
  • You can drop a check off at Seeds of Learning at 575 S. 7th Street, at the corner of 7th and Apache

Other Ways to Help

  • Host a group of friends, neighbors, etc. to whom Seeds can speak about its purpose, goals and needs.
  • Arrange for Seeds of Learning to speak at an Organization meeting of which you are a member.
  • Provide in-kind services for the new facility (i.e. landscaping, painting, etc.)
  • Serve on a Seeds committee (fundraising, publicity, grants, etc.)
  • Serve on a special event planning committee
  • Any other ways you can think of to help!


Tax Information


Here is a list of some of the tax benefits† you receive for giving to Seeds of Learning. For those people in the highest tax bracket, giving to Seeds can reduce their tax liability on the money they give from over 39% to less that 11%. In short, anyone who, filing jointly has a taxable Colorado income of more than 59,000 dollars, it is to THEIR advantage to give to Seeds. For those who are single, if they earn more than 30,000 it is to their advantage to give. Basically anyone in a tax bracket higher than 20 benefits.

Federal Income Tax Deduction

Your donation is tax-deductible on your federal income taxes. Seeds of Learing is a registered 501(c)3 organization. Depending on your tax bracket, you may receive up to 35% donation back on your federal tax return.

State Income Tax Credit of 50%

Effective through 2010.
By its very nature, an early care and education center cannot survive without community support. The Colorado Legislature recognizes this fact, and provides a means of rewarding those who are willing to help. Seeds of Learning qualifies for the Colorado Child Care Contribution Credit.
