Meet the talented coaches who will guide our 2021 Stars on their dancing journey
Fan favorite Leslie Carlson returns to helm this year’s production. Carlson has been a
professional dance instructor for over 20 years.
She taught social dance with Arthur Murray Studios in New Orleans for nine years
before becoming an independent instructor and relocating to Durango in 2005.
Nolan King has trained under several of the top
dance instructors in the United States and is
excited to be coaching the Pagosa Stars for the
He now is an instructor himself, teaching at
Legacy Dance studio in Cortez, which he co-owns
with his sister, Cassidy.
Kylie Ross, is returning as a choreographer for her fourth year involved in the event.
A West Coast girl who has made her way to Pagosa Springs, Ross has 24 years of dance experience that began
with tap, jazz, and ballet.
Kylie’s career led her to a studio in Seattle, WA where she spent four years competing in West Coast Swing,
teaching, and regularly performing with her students in studio productions.
Ashley Butcher is a Pagosa Springs native who grew up with a love
for dance. That love only grew as she discovered musical theater in High School.
Some may remember her stunning performances in the last three Burlesque productions staged at The Pagosa Center for the Arts.
Dr. Doug Miller
Dr. Doug. Miller, PsyD, MAR is a licensed psychologist in Durango, Colorado
who provides counseling services for individuals and families, psychological
assessments, neurofeedback training, parenting workshops and leadership
Doug Miller is married to Dr. Kelly Miller, MD, a pediatrician at Pediatric Partners of the Southwest. Drs. Doug and Kelly
Miller have lived in Durango since 2002 and have been married for twenty-four years.
They have four children; three biological children ages nineteen, seventeen, and fifteen years old, and one twelve-year-old
adopted son from the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Doug has participated in the Dancing with the Durango Stars event twice as a dancer and once as an MC.
Hayley Hudson has been dancing since she could walk. Growing up in Pagosa Springs, she has had countless opportunities to develop her love for theatre, dance and performance.
Hayley has been sharing her passion for performing arts through teaching since 2013 and has taught at premiere dance studios throughout Southwest Colorado.
Hayley has performed professionally with regional theaters across Colorado. Her favorite credits include “Janet” in Rocky Horror Picture Show and “Kristine” in A Chorus Line.
She is currently the Artistic Director at the Pagosa Springs Dance Academy.
